Building Resilient Communities To Face Health Crises

14:45 – 16:15 HRS. (IST)

Context

Community resilience is increasingly recognized as foundational to sustainable health systems. Communities are not merely beneficiaries but active partners in shaping health outcomes. Empowerment through health literacy, participatory decision-making, behavior change communication, and collective action enables communities to identify risks, respond effectively, and sustain long-term improvements. Real-world case experiences demonstrate that when communities are supported with relevant information, digital literacy, and inclusive governance mechanisms, health systems become more responsive and equitable. This session brings together case presentations and panel reflections to examine practical strategies, challenges, and scalable approaches for institutionalizing community-led resilience.
