Prof. Utpal Tatu is a Professor at Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India. His research focuses on Global health-One health with a particular focus on neglected disease causing organisms, AMR with an emphasis on developing better methods of diagnosis and treatment for human and animal infections. He has over 100 publications in internationally peer reviewed journals and his research is covered in the editorials of scientific magazines such as Science and Nature Medicine. He is one of the early proponents of One health approach, invited to give a TED talk on One Health in 2013 and practices the concept of one health village.

He serves on the advisory board of One Health Initiatives internationally, including University of Zurich, Switzerland.
