Mr. Ajit Kesari is a Retired Additional Chief Secretary to the Government of Madhya Pradesh, with 35 years of distinguished service in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) since 1990. An alumnus of IIT Kanpur (B.Tech) and IIT Delhi (M.Tech), he further holds a Master's in Public Policy from George Mason University, Washington DC, with specialised training at Harvard's JFK School, IIM Ahmedabad, NLSIU, ASCI, and NALSAR.
A trailblazer in governance, he served as India's first Registrar of Aadhaar (2010), enrolling over 1 crore individuals, and was the first CMD of a restructured Electricity Discom post the Electricity Act 2003. As Kumbh Mela Officer, Ujjain (2002–04), he managed infrastructure for 2 crore pilgrims using GIS-based planning. His 14-year tenure in Agriculture drove landmark innovations including eRupi-based farmer subsidies and satellite-driven crop insurance. As ACS Finance, he delivered a Revenue Surplus even in an election year.
Currently, he serves as Senior Advisor to multilateral and international funding agencies in Sustainable Agriculture, Environmental Policy, and Digital Public Infrastructure, and is a Member of the Governing Council of the Social Stock Exchange, NSE Mumbai. He is also actively involved in managing a 125-bed hospital.
