Dr Pankaj Kumar Arora

Director - Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, National Health Authority, Government of India

Dr. Pankaj Kumar Arora is a senior public health professional with over 20 years of experience in designing, implementing, and leading large-scale health programs in India. Currently serving as Director at the National Health Authority, Government of India, he plays a key leadership role in advancing the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), onboarding and integrating central and state government health programs into the ABDM ecosystem and driving nation-wide adoption of ABDM.

He has also collaborated with a wide range of stakeholders including Ministry of Labor & Employment (MoL&E), Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Ministry of Social Justice & Employment (MoSJ&E), and Ministry of Road Transport & Highway (MoRTH), and has fostered partnerships with international agencies to advance India’s Universal Health Coverage agenda. Previously, Dr. Arora served in the Indian Railways Medical Service, where he introduced digital health solutions and led strategic hospital management reforms.

Dr. Arora holds an MSc in Global Health Policy from the London School of Economics, an MS in Surgery, and an MBBS. He is also a member of the ISQua’s Academy of Quality and Safety in Health Care and has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications on public health and clinical medicine.
