Faculty & Improvement Advisor, Institute for Healthcare Improvement
Dr. Abha Mehndiratta, DCH, DNB, MPH, is an Improvement Advisor and faculty member at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI), and has built capability and coached quality improvement teams across South-east Asia and Middle East.
Dr. Mehndiratta is also a Non-Resident Fellow at the Center for Global Development, where she promotes evidence-based medicine and informed decision-making through the use of clinical guidelines and economic evidence. She has collaborated with the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and leading Indian academic institutions to to strengthen capacity and develop institutional frameworks for clinical guidelines, quality standards, health benefits package design, and the use of economic evidence in decision-making to advance Universal Health Coverage (UHC).
Her previous consulting roles include engagements with the World Bank, the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), UK, and Imperial College London. Additionally, she has served as an advisor to the AIIMS (Delhi) Humanities in Medicine Initiative
She holds a Diploma in Child Health (DCH) and Diplomate of National Board (DNB) in Pediatrics and a Master’s in Public Health from Harvard University, where she was a Fulbright scholar. In addition, she is a certified IHI Improvement Advisor and an NABH Assessor.
